Thessaloniki

Now onto Thessaloniki. [The current capital of Macedonia and second largest city of Greece. It is here that St Paul first brought the message of Christianity (50 A.D.). Thessaloniki became the second most important city of the Byzantine Empire, next to Constantinople] and St. George’s Basilica and the Galerius Arch. [The Arch of Galerius was built in 305 AD, to celebrate the definitive triumph of the Emperor over the Persians.. ]Thessaloniki, (Greek: Θεσσαλονίκη), is Greece's second-largest city and the capital of the Greek region of Macedonia and the periphery of Central Macedonia.
