This one as it was explained to me is how NOT do manage a Three story high incline on a portage. One just does NOT let the canoe bump and grind that far on purpose. But then I can understand the mammoth labor-intensive grueling blood sweat and gumption just to go up and down such severe portages.
No wonder I have never been invited. Thank goodness for that!
