Punny

Lexophilia
~~
Ok I just felt like this TODAY, temperatures to edge toward the 70’s, rain, overcast…ICK!

~~~~~~~~~~
ICK you say, well YEAH! Ichthyophthirius multifiliis, but I do not mean THIS “ICK”. "Ick" is also a slang English term for something distasteful.I was just lying here thinking:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Playing with words, making up words, messing with common phrases, making and appreciating puns and metaphors, taking things literally for comic effect, rhyming things.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
The snow is gone for the moment the sun has not peeped out in a few days; I go to the dentist again today. HA HA that is always a GAS. The car will hopefully pass inspection…and maybe, just maybe I will go Christmas shopping. I did not yesterday, the rain made me feel BLAH!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What to do? As I was stretching, this came to mind! Enjoy!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Well we sure need the rain, so I am going to make my own sunshine. Here goes!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Two antennas met on a roof, fell in love and got married. The ceremony wasn't much, but the reception was excellent.
~~
Deja Moo: The feeling that you've heard this bull before.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I went to buy some camouflage trousers the other day but I couldn't find any.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I went to a seafood disco last week... And pulled a mussel.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ And finally, there was the person who sent tw enty different puns to his friends hoping that at least ten of the puns would make them laugh. No pun in ten did.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today’s neat word is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Friar’s lantern (FRY-uhrz LAN-tuhrn) noun A phosphorescent light seen over marshy ground at night, caused by spontaneous combustion of gases emitted by decomposing organic matter. A synonym is foxfire (not Firefox), especially for luminescence produced by fungi.[The first use of the term is in John Milton's 1632 poem L'Allegro:"She was pinched and pulled, she said; / And he, by Friar's lantern led."]

Today's word in Visual Thesaurus: http://visualthesaurus.com/?w1=friar-Anu Garg (words at http://wordsmith.org/ )

Now to get my WELLIES on and go forth into the Day!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You know the Boots that make ya feel less damp and down.
No walk for me IMAC we live 20 miles from town…but the day turned out to be as warm as they said and the sun shone… Can’t get much better than that.
Julie that kitten is Jacopo; he is one of four I got snookered into adopting. He is a sweet little one for sure, until he tries to attack my yarn. So far a simple and stern NO NO works.
Glad you liked the puns...
Dee - You are very clever and well read. I enjoyed your collection of puns. Your lack of snow would get me down, although I can remember Christmases that were foggy and warm up here. There lots of snow here and it's very pretty. By the way, the chimes are hanging at the garage corner and I hear them tinkeling with even the slighest breeze. They are great! Especially during the winter.
That's a cute kitten or maybe a cat. I can't hardly figure out the bottom picture. His stomach is up and his chest seems to be down.
Alyssa, as far as being well read, does that ever truly end? There is so much out there to consume knowledge wise, and the time is so limited in which to achieve it. As for the Punning, those are very old puns, just funny, or should I say PUNNY ones.
I grew up in a family that punned…now it is almost as instinctual as breathing.
SO that is where the Chimes are, I often wondered. As for the jelly, there is one “ME” serving left… YUM it is so good.
Abraham, to explain the last kitten pose…
Have you ever stretched so hard and long and someone saw you in this process? It takes awhile to get the body back into normal configuration, right? You want to enjoy that STRETCH to the ‘nth degree? That is what I saw as Jacopo went from the first picture of readjusting himself[ almost 5 months old now] to the wild man stretch.
