I reviewed the pictures I took last evening of the Lunar eclipse. I managed to go out @ every 10 minutes. That is until the eclipse was ready to go the other way…bedtime for me…plus it was @ 15 degrees outside. At this point I can say I am pleased with what I was able to get. I feel sure others will have better pictures, and that is SUPER by me. Makes me start thinking about another camera… HA HA.
Today to edit what I think is good and pass on for the Sky watch. Bottom line, despite the cold, it was so pretty. We did see that red haze, which seems to have come through in several of my pictures…
My little Canon Power Shot S2 IS did not do a bad job!
I just knew that the sky would be clear…even after going to bed; we opened the shade to the skylight over our bed and continued to monitor the moon. Soon it was like a Giant Pizza pie in my eye!
The photo Gallery at http://spaceweather.com/eclipses/gallery_20feb08.htm?PHPSESSID=0g4q7p6l7n9ugfuudu2ialrdu6
Has some super pictures…[I am comparing with what I have ;)]
Plus they tell what camera was used etc.
Valuable info for sure![still thinking about a new camera… ;)

I think your pictures are great! I'm trying to learn to operate my camera better but boy those instruction manuals just blow my mind.
I really enjoyed these they are really good. Thanks for sharing them with us
Oh how wonderful. I'm glad you shot these...
Nice shots. I wish my camera took good clear pictures like that.
Thanks for sharing those photos. I like them a lot. I didn't get the opportunity to photograph the eclipse.
Oh wow... these are nice. Unfortuanately the weather didn't behave for me so I didn't get a good look at it :(
Your photos are truly amazing! I can't capture the moon that far... Great work!
I think you and your little camera took some great shots of the moon. Funny, as I taking moon pictures I was thinking the same thing.
You did a great job. We went out, looked. In a few minutes I went back and clouds had rolled right over it. Thanks for sharing your pics, they're really good.
oh you even got photos of the shadow! Wonderful! Now stop saying others have better because these are marvelous! (My eclipse pic is here.) My Sky Watch is here. Thank you.
Those are wonderful photos of the moon. I was not able to get one stinking photo of it with my camera, i tried all the night shot settings and wham NOTHING! but i did get it after the fact
These are wonderful. These moon photos make me want to return to that wonderful book from my college days, The Cosmic Mother. The moon has fascinated us from the beginning of our time! God bless.
I was one of those taking shots of the moon. However, I was a wimp and stay in the house and opened the bathroom window and took the pictures from there. I closed the window in between shots because it was so darn cool. But it was amazing to watch. I love your pictures by the way!
lots of moon in here ;)
My first SWF
I agree that your pictures are excellent. I think your camera takes very good photos. We got home early from work and the eclipse was just beginning so I ran in and got my camera. It was about -7 here and I tried to get a few shots but my camera isn't the best. I could only get a few blurry pinpoints of light so I watched from inside with my binoculars. It was very beautiful and awe inspiring. I'm glad you were able to get some good shots for postarity.
Great shots!
I love numer 1 and 2.
Yes, it`s neat.
Wishing you a happy weekend! :)
Lovely! Nice shots!
Hi,
Wow! These are wonderful,well done!
beautiful moon photos, well done.
They are all very nice but I was quite found of that one where the moon is hidden by the tree branch.
Well done D.. I'm so glad you had the chance to get some.. and very well done for putting up with the cold... I'll be back later to follow the links.. just as soon as I visit all the sky watchers.
Hi, wow what shots, so so so fantastic, me oh I missed it all haha sleepy head.
Been to docs today and got some anti biotics - chest infection. thanks for asking Dee.
too much cloud over here.
just have to wait another 3 years for the next one now... :-[
Thanks for all of your kind words.
Clarification about my camera:
My camera was not meant to take such distance shots…the fact we, the camera and I pulled some good shots off was in part luck and having a Photo Program on my PC.
I suppose the biggest thrill was seeing a ‘blank’ photo, but once in the Photo Edit program, lo and behold there was something there…
I rather liken it to be in a cyber Darkroom. I grew up with a father that had a darkroom and taught me as much as he could…I learned on Black and white, the entire process…
Really neat actually as I reflect…Ummmm Pun there HA
Thanks for the great lunar eclipse pictures. It was in the middel of the nigth in Norway so I missed it.
the one w/ the branch is interesting good set

Wonderful photos!!!
Awesome series! You did a great job with this.
I know how hard it is to get these shots as I tried too! Yours turned out well. Wasn't it amazing to see??
There's nothing like a lunar eclipse to create mass camera envy, eh? I wonder what digital camera sales are like these days.
Fun blog.
