Beautiful photo! Do you use the dried flowers for anything? It has been really hot here is Iowa also, I get a little tired of the heat and humidity, there is no end in sight either. We are wanting to go to Reiman Gardens and the Iowa State Fair, it is going to hot and humid for both trips, I was hoping for a break.

Thanks Iowa glad you liked the picture. As far as ever using them dried, no. I have thought about it from time to time but I seem content to see the dry flowers still on the tree through the winter. Makes me reflect and look onward.

I hope you’re to trips will be pleasant and not too hot and humid. It appears we are in for temperatures in the 90’s through till next Friday…ha at this point at least!

Lovely hydrangea as well as the George Eliot quote. Those are very good words to cultivate. I thought your anniversery was this weekend but I see you are just gearing up for the big day. It is wonderful you still can feel "gushy" - sometimes people lose those feelings.

Steve and I work in the same company and sometimes I'll catch his eye across the shop and we'll just grin at each other - just as we did years ago. It's great.

Have a "gushy" weekend.

Ruth, the one in this picture is a hydrangea tree.[ Hydrangea, Pee Gee
Hydrangea paniculata 'Grandiflora']
Mature Height: 10' - 20'
Growth Rate: Fast Mature Spread: 10' - 20'
HARDINESS ZONE(S): 3 - 8
This tree can be expected to grow in the temperature extremes of the zones shown in color in this arborday.org hardiness zone map.

It is beside the deck near the bridge you might recall. If you go to the post; “Bits and Pieces…July 24 you will see the limelight Hydrangea bush I got last year.
The Hydrangea paniculata Limelight I got from White Flower Farm. I have been quite pleased with what I get from there.

The Hydrangea Tree I got locally as it was available. We have had it about 5 years. Zone 3 thru 8. Height:
8-10 ft. (2.4-3 m). Sun Exposure:
Sun to Partial Shade

You will be able to grow both in your area. Think you should consider letting your Mom get that for you. I know her well I will put in a good word for you! ;)
