Almost Turkey Day

OR Turkey day is for the BIRDS? HA HA
~~
Slowly the SIMMER begins. YUP the excitement of having the kids home, smells wafting upwards. Checking the grocery list thrice…

~~

Turkey will go in the oven tonight. Tomorrow morning before the kids arrive, the wondrous smells that evokes memories in us all. I bet the smells will drive the PUPS BONKERS.
~~
WOW, come to think of it, this is Lily and Houses first Thanksgiving.
~~
Jazz is finally settling down to a life with a real family…wonder if she will sense the difference, the excitement? Dear George, our elder dog, will be content to lie in the middle of any room where food MIGHT drop to the floor, while pools of drool surround his paws.
Amidst all of this, my car is ill…SIGH! By noon I will know why THAT light is on as well as if my muffler has a hole in it. I will be STUCK at the mechanics place until the verdict is pronounced.

~~

The bummer about that is: people no longer are allowed to watch what they do to your car. Insurance, accidents etc have disallowed curious arm chair mechanics like I to learn. I do not like that! It’s not like I am going to open a shop of my own up! Geesh Louise!

~~

Memories of less hectic times, YA memories of childhood… Dad taking me with him, while he hung out with his buddies that were mechanics. Looking back it was probably a treat from his weekly routine… Ummmmmmm ya think I was bugging Mom so I had to go with DAD? Probably likely actually… Those were great times…I really was no problem, that I RECALL! I did learn more than I thought…

~~

So instead of being impatient this morning, I will TRY to sneak a look to see what they are doing to my car. As well as amending the grocery list. Let’s see, 1. Diet Coke 2. Root Beer 3. Snacks for the WVU Football game Saturday 4. Fresh flowers for the girls rooms 5. LIFE IS GOOD! AND YES dear daughters, the Pepperoni Rolls are freshly out of the oven awaiting your arrival. The Home Made Ice cream is forthcoming as well! LIFE IS GOOD!

Have a great weekend and after we get back from White Water Rafting I hope to share some FAB pictures.
From its rough-and-ready origins scarcely 30 years ago, whitewater rafting in West Virginia has become the modern-day centerpiece of complete vacations that can encompass a world of activities, both on the river and off. The key ingredient, of course, is still the tremendous whitewater that courses through the state's spectacular mountain scenery. West Virginia offers one of the broadest array of river experiences available anywhere in the world, from mild to wild with everything in between. But for many of today's visitors, that's just the beginning.

News Alert RE: Jazzy, House and Lily

The news is SWEET about our pups that had Parvo.

Not only did they survive the 50% odds of recovery they are butterballs.
House weighed in at 12 pounds while Lily clocked in at 11.5. They got their booster shots as well as their first Kennel Cough shot. 'Kennel Cough' is the term that was commonly applied to the most prevalent upper respiratory problem in dogs in the United States. Recently, the condition has become known as tracheobronchitis, canine infectious tracheobronchitis, Bordetellosis, or Bordetella. It is highly contagious in dogs. The disease is found worldwide and will infect a very high percentage of dogs in their lifetime. Vaccination and Prevention
They are due for the 2nd Kennel cough Shot June 24, when Jazzy will be getting spayed.
The best prevention is to not expose your dog to other dogs, especially young puppies. If this cannot be avoided, then proper vaccination is the next best option. Chances are that if your dog is regularly vaccinated with a standard 5-way or 7-way vaccine, he is already being protected against several of the agents causing tracheobronchitis, mainly parainfluenza and adenovirus. However, these vaccines alone rarely provide protection against contracting the disease, although they will help reduce the severity of the disease if the animal becomes infected.
Before you take your dogs to a boarding place OR dog show, puppy school, or other situation where they'll be around a lot of dogs, it's a good idea to vaccinate your dog against kennel cough," says Dr. Jennifer Brinson, veterinarian formerly at the University of Illinois Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital in Urbana. "Kennel cough is a highly contagious respiratory condition thought to be caused by a bacteria called Bordatella. Kennel cough vaccines are not generally necessary for house dogs that rarely have contact with other dogs."
YES INDEEDY she [Jazzy] is now 48.6 pounds and gaining in weight as well as strength. The Vet said the Puppies could now go out in the yard to be exercised. They will sure love that.
When it stops raining!
Life is still hectic here with the three new hairy residents. Feeding puppies three to 4 times a day. Then there is exercising them and playing with them. They have their first dog collars. Tooooooooo Cute.
ALWAYS FEED AT THE SAME TIME.
ALWAYS FEED THE DOG IN ITS CRATE. 8 weeks of age to approx. 16 weeks of age feed 3 times per day about 1 cup of food per feeding.
16 weeks of age (or when the puppy is showing less interest in eating 3 meals per day) feed 2 meals per day about 1-11/2 cups of food per feeding.
Feed your puppy as much food as it will eat in 15 minutes. Remove uneaten portion and refrigerate until the next meal. It is normal for dogs to be " off their food " on occasion, especially during the first few days of being in it's new home.
Soon lessons about being on leash will commence…IN TIME. Just Superior Extraordinary NEWS to report.
AWWWWWWWWW MOM we are soooooooooooo TIRED
sigh
Now This is how it is DONE, so Pay Attention
I love you Mom
