A spider web, spiderweb, spider's web or cobweb (from the obsolete word "coppe", meaning "spider" [1]) is a device built by a spider out of proteinaceous spider silk extruded from its spinnerets. Insects can get trapped in spider webs, providing nutrition to the spider; however, not all spiders build webs to catch prey, and some do not build webs at all.

Anniversary

Lots of things going one here, the MOST important is our Anniversary on Sunday. Got me Tootsies embellished. Flowers on one toe and a fish and 2 hearts on the other…we DID go Fishing on our Honeymoon…and of course I had POSEYS for our Wedding.

Then there are the Olympics, my Fathers Birthday, the BIGGIE Picnic here, then Labor Day, Jubilee, the eldest and her hubby going to be visiting, and then Sweeties B Day and the Annual trek to Canada…

Needless to say this has been one Hectic summer. The three new dogs etc…

Bottom line all is well, and soon when the bitter winds blow inside will be necessary… I do love being outside, EVEN training the dogs.

Jazzy and I are going to Obedience School, I am doing ok she seems to be getting a tad more socialized which is a good thing.

The garden, when I have the chance to go in there is doing wonderfully, Sweetie sure does wonders with his garden.

I have not blogged much, but that is ok, this summer just has been such that time for blogging takes low priority.

There is a new PC on the Horizon for me as well…WHO HOOOOOOOOOOOOO

What is a Praying Mantis? The praying mantids, or praying mantises, are carnivorous insects that belong to the family. There are about 2,000 species of mantids. The biggest praying mantises are the Tenodera and the Archimantis, which are six inches long! The smallest praying mantis is the Bolbe pygmaea, which is only 2/5 of an inch, or one-centimeter. Unbelievably, some scientists agree the mantis is closely related to the cockroach. The name "mantis" comes from the Greek word for 'prophet' or 'soothsayer.' The Carolina mantid is a common insect of Eastern United States. The European and Chinese species were introduced to the Northeastern United States about 75 years ago as garden predators in hopes of overtaking the native pest population.

This morning in Iran, Mohamad Soltanolkottabi photographed the Moon tantilizingly close to the rising sun. "I went to Naghsh-e Jahan Square and took this picture in front of the Sheykh Lutfullah Mosque," he says.

Check this site for the PHOTO it is amazing. http://spaceweather.com:80/ On Friday, August 1st, the Moon will pass directly in front of the Sun producing a total solar eclipse. The narrow path of totality stretches from arctic Canada through Greenland, Siberia, and Mongolia, and comes to an end in China, where millions of people will witness the event. Even more people will see the partial eclipse, visible from almost all of Europe, the Middle East, India, Asia and a corner of North America. The action begins at approximately 09:20 UT (5:20 am EDT) when the Moon's shadow first hits Earth in northern Canada and begins its rapid sweep toward China.

Less than 24 hours from now, the sun and Moon will meet, converging to produce a solar eclipse. The narrow path of totality stretches from arctic Canada, across Greenland and Siberia, to millions of waiting eyes in populous China. Botanical Name: Lilium "Stargazer"

In ancient mythology and in folklore from around the world, the lily has appeared as a deeply spiritual and philosophical metaphor. The lily family has traditionally represented innocence and purity. These motifs appeared as far back as ancient Greek and Roman civilizations and reappeared in biblical traditions. Stargazer lilies have come to be associated with these meanings, but they've taken on additional meanings as well. White stargazer lilies, in particular, have come to characterize a sense of purity and are often used as an expression of sympathy. The pink varieties are also considered symbolic of wealth and prosperity, as well being as a sign of aspiration.

With a length of 3030 feet (924 m), it was for many years the longest in the world of that type.[1] Its arch extends 1700 feet (518 m). Part of U.S. Highway 19, it is crossed by an average of 17,000 motor vehicles per day. Its construction marked the completion of "Corridor L".

I toured some neat shops in the near by town, had a fabulous breakfast in a darling Café…got my Sweetie some dehydrated foods for his Canada trip. Got our youngest son a goofy T-shirt and for MOI a silly cap that I wear when I garden or work outside.

Every now and again quality “ME TIME” is so invigorating. Even the spider bite on my right temple has its moment of humor…now I know what Botox could do for one side of my face! It has healed and my right side is back to BEFORE…
