I preferred to walk about the woods and enjoy yet another extraordinary Autumn Day.

One of my favorite things to do is take pictures with reflections…

The rays glitter like ornaments throughout the woodland.

As the foliage floats down this particular one looked like an UFO. What a crystal BLUE Sky we had today! Most of the leaves gently slither downward, creek, all in all a good time to be outside. This song came to mind … Andrea Bocelli singing "Autumn Leaves" Lyrics by Johnny Mercer

Enjoy the reflections on a glass table top near Sarah's Pond SOLAR ECLIPSE Consider it an overture. This morning in Iran, Mohamad Soltanolkottabi photographed the Moon tantilizingly close to the rising sun. "I went to Naghsh-e Jahan Square and took this picture in front of the Sheykh Lutfullah Mosque," he says.

Check this site for the PHOTO it is amazing. http://spaceweather.com:80/ On Friday, August 1st, the Moon will pass directly in front of the Sun producing a total solar eclipse. The narrow path of totality stretches from arctic Canada through Greenland, Siberia, and Mongolia, and comes to an end in China, where millions of people will witness the event. Even more people will see the partial eclipse, visible from almost all of Europe, the Middle East, India, Asia and a corner of North America. The action begins at approximately 09:20 UT (5:20 am EDT) when the Moon's shadow first hits Earth in northern Canada and begins its rapid sweep toward China.

Less than 24 hours from now, the sun and Moon will meet, converging to produce a solar eclipse. The narrow path of totality stretches from arctic Canada, across Greenland and Siberia, to millions of waiting eyes in populous China. NASA TV will broadcast the event beginning Friday, August 1st, at 6 am EDT. Don't miss it!

With a length of 3030 feet (924 m), it was for many years the longest in the world of that type.[1] Its arch extends 1700 feet (518 m). Part of U.S. Highway 19, it is crossed by an average of 17,000 motor vehicles per day. Its construction marked the completion of "Corridor L".

What a wonderful day trip we had last weekend. Meeting up with some new and old friends is always a pleasure.

Secondly I literally had a 24-hour respite from the three pups…YUP “ME TIME”!

I toured some neat shops in the near by town, had a fabulous breakfast in a darling Café…got my Sweetie some dehydrated foods for his Canada trip. Got our youngest son a goofy T-shirt and for MOI a silly cap that I wear when I garden or work outside.

Every now and again quality “ME TIME” is so invigorating. Even the spider bite on my right temple has its moment of humor…now I know what Botox could do for one side of my face! It has healed and my right side is back to BEFORE…

My picture for today seems apropos, New Site for Sky Watch, The new Dogs are doing well Jazzy and I will be attending obedience school so she can learn to be 4 years old.

Remember she is 4 years old and has had 4 litters. Now that she is FIXED she can learn to be a dog that now can be more than a brood machine. The road is and has not been easy…but progress is being made!

As I sat looking up at the Wisteria that is in need of trimming this it what I SPIED!

Super VINE!

Severe pruning, if needed, is done during the winter dormant season months of November, December, January and February. Some July pruning can be done, to help control the rampant growth of the vines. Otherwise, you end up with a tangled mess of intertwined vines. The dormant season pruning is the severe pruning, when one should cut the leader vines back to the desired height. Then prune the side shoots (those growing from the main leaders) back to the second or third dormant bud. This is where good judgment must be used, because the flower buds form the previous summer, and if you prune too severely, of course you will be cutting off all the potential new flower buds. I think the most important consideration is proper pruning at the correct time. If allowed to grow unattended the vines may reach 50 feet or more.

Tom’s Place for Sky Watch Friday

In the spring I look at the trees making sure the progression of leaf buds are coming along, especially on the trees we planted last year. Deep within hoping they made it. While doing a walk about I noticed, on an overcast day…what appears to be a cocoon of sorts.

Sleuthing ~~ What’s That Bug? Camera in hand then a dash for the Audubon Book on Insect 's …double confirmation using site from the Internet I have concluded that is is highly likely we have a CASE.

In Fall, the female builds cocoon out of something like paper mache and lays her eggs inside. The cocoon over-winters and the eggs hatch out in spring. The frayed material dribbling out of the left side of a cocoon indicates a successful hatchout.

Ootheca ~ a case or capsule containing eggs, as that of certain gastropods and insects.
